Direct Service Professionals
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
(Full Time, Part Time, Weekend, Overnight)
For most of the positions listed, a valid driver’s license is required (permit considered). Related experience is preferred, but not necessary, as training is provided. Get hands-on experience and the support you need.
Residential Counselor
Learn a variety of skills in a nontraditional environment. Work in a group home with adults with developmental and learning disabilities. Teach daily living activities, provide counseling, work with families, and promote community integration. Must be a highly motivated team player.
Requirements (Entry-Level):
HS Diploma/equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or some college preferred.
Requirements (Mid-Level):
HS Diploma/equivalent and human services experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or some college preferred. A great pathway to an Assistant Psychologist or Assistant Supervisor position.
Residential Floater Counselor
Work with adults with varying degrees of disability and related needs in several residences instead of one. Ideal for those with related experience interested in advancing into to an Assistant Psychologist or Assistant Supervisor position.
Requirements:
HS Diploma/equivalent and human services experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or some college preferred. Day and evening availability required.
Assistant Psychologist (Clinical)
Develop and implement treatment and behavioral goals for adults with disabilities in a group home, under the direction of a behavioral psychologist. Train staff, perform assessments, and work closely with the residential psychologist. Some positions include extensive family work. Receive clinical training for the resident psychologist position.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, one year of related human services/psychology experience. Master’s degree in Psychology with limited experience preferred.
Assistant Supervisor (Administrative)
Prepare for a residential supervisor position by assisting the program supervisor while receiving management training. Supervise and train part-time, overnight and ancillary staff and student interns. Coordinate weekend recreational activities.
Requirements:
Minimum two years of human services related experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Supervisory experience a plus.
DAY HABILITATION SERVICES
If you are interested in community work, this is ideal. Work with higher functioning adults with developmental and learning disabilities in the community. Help them to function independently in volunteer settings outside the program and prepare them for employment.
Community Training Specialist
Work with adults with developmental and learning disabilities in a community setting. Provide pre-employment training at local community volunteer sites. Develop consumers’ personal awareness, provide community access, liaison with the community, and obtain future training sites.
Requirements (Entry-level):
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Related human services experience a plus.
Requirements (Mid-Level):
Bachelor’s degree and related human services experience.
IN-HOME FAMILY SERVICES

Family Specialist
Work in the home with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental and learning disabilities in various neighborhoods. Provide training in activities of daily living, behavior management, community integration, and advocacy. All positions require strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a family dynamic. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a strong plus.
Requirements (Entry-level):
HS Diploma/equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Related human services experience a plus.
Requirements (Mid-Level):
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and related human services experience.
EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVES DEPARTMENT
If you have a customer service background or would like to work in a business environment with employers, this is ideal for you.
Job Coach/Employment Training Specialist
Work with the developmentally and learning disabled, some with a secondary psychiatric diagnosis. Teach vocational skills in the classroom and on the job in corporate and other business settings. Ensure that trainees meet performance standards, and assist them with work site integration. Must be able to work independently and network with the employment community. Strong presentation skills are essential.
Requirements (Entry-level):
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Requirements (Mid-level):
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with related human services experience.
Marketing Representative
Network with the business community while working with adults with developmental, learning, and psychiatric disabilities. Market the agency and obtain job sites for trainees. Prepare "employment ready" individuals for interviews and ensure their successful placement. Educate employers and their staff in vocational issues and sensitivity in working with trainees.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, related experience in human services/marketing.
DAY TREATMENT SERVICES
Work with adults with profound to mild developmental and learning disabilities in a school-like environment.
Teacher Assistant
Assist lead teacher in following a lesson plan, help to implement behavioral goals, take recreational trips promoting community integration.
Requirements:
HS Diploma/equivalent. Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree level positions available. Related human services experience a plus.
Lead Teacher
Develop and implement curriculum and behavioral goals. Initiate recreational trips promoting community integration. Supervise and mentor teacher assistants, respond to crises when necessary.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, one year of related human services/teaching experience.
Teacher Trainer
Perform lead teacher duties, provide enriched training to lead teachers and teacher assistants in other classrooms.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. One year of related human services and teaching experience strongly preferred.
